Iris and barry dating website

I have only the fondest memories of growing up in Laurelton. It was truly a "neighborhood" and we didn't need to make "play dates". My sister, Barbara Tabor ( Cohen) lives just up the road in Boynton Beach, which is where, ( now that we read the listings) she'll be on the lookout for Sherry Axelrod! I have also seen Larry Silversmith, Holly Malkin and of course my brother Jack Fox and his wife, Marilyn Shulman. Although Andrew Jackson scared me to death at first, it became a huge positive social and educational experience with too much to put here in words. I seem to have lost touch with all people from Laurelton. In 2001 we moved to Boca Raton, Florida where we currently reside. I loved living in Laurelton and rarely run into anyone from there. I used to live at 228-12 135 Ave, across from the Young Israel. I sadly read an obituary in the Los Angeles Jewish Journal for Dick, yesterday. I went to the website of the LA Jewish Journal but they have not posted this weeks issue yet. He went to AJHS and my sister Abby moved with my parents to Franklin Square in 1972. My name was Louise Greenhill and I have a brother named Bill. A beautiful place to live but I do miss my days in Laurelton. As I write this I am waiting for my friend, Ivy Silverstsein (AJHS 1969.) to arrive in Boca for the holidays. They all attended my daughter's wedding 2 years ago. I have wonderful memories of just hanging out with whoever was around at night in the summer and safely walking around the neighborhood. My name is Barbara [Gebber] Fingeroth, currently living in Mahopac, NY. Taught Math and was a supervisor in NYC schools from 1965 to 1997. I married my wife Francine in 1970 and we lived in Forest Hills, Queens for six years and then moved to Syosset, Long Island where we lived for 27 years. I attended PS 176, Jr High School 59, and Jamaica High. I was just browsing the names and stories on the Laurelton website and came across Rabbi Dick Schachet. Does anyone remember Samuel's Cleaners, Charlies Bar, the LIRR tressle, the great bakeries on Merrick Road, the wonderful pizza and delicious food at Wong's Garden. If anyone remembers me (which I doubt because I was kinda invisible in those days) feel free to get in touch. We had backyard Bar BQ's with lots of lighter fluid. I'm currently living in San Pedro, CA, teaching in Carson, CA and have two wonderful children. Also a Musician and Rescue Diver and former County EMT Instructor.

We proudly marched each year in the Memorial Day Parade. Was a charter member of Laurelton Volunteer Ambulance Corps 1964-1969.

I am a retired accountant, currently living in Lake Norman (Cornelius), North Carolina. I've been living in Wellington, Florida for the past two years. I moved to Laurelton in 1961 from Inwood, Manhattan. I have lost contact with most of my friends from my Laurelton years and it would be nice to reconnect. John was a mechanic for the Green Bus Lines in Jamaica, NY. I worked at La Tasca's Pizza on Merrick Road (between 232 and 233) from 1965 to 1971. Brill, Judy (Lefkowitz-O'Connor) - [email protected] Andrew Jackson H. Every summer the "Center" which was located inside PS 176 on the first floor housed all of us and every week day we played ping pong, pool, kickball, basketball, etc. Many great summers took place there during the day and then in the "cement" park after the Center closed at p.m. I took my two boys (12 and 14) there in the summer of 2005 to show them the three houses I lived in, the schools I went to, and to share my memories of growing up there. We didn't lock the doors on our homes during the 1950s. Lived in Rochdale Village in the 60's and was best friends with Rita Levy (now Ratner) until leaving for Israel after graduating Queens College in 1972. My wife, Janice Schaerf Hamburg (AJHS 1963) an my sister, Linda Hamburg Berger (AJHS 1963) are also curious about any old friends that might view this web site. I remember eating lunch in the auditorium with my farmhouse lunchbox and thermos.

I attended PS 156 and JHS 59, and I graduated from AJHS in 1962. I went to PS 156, JHS 59 and Springfield Gardens HS grad 1969. One lives in Mount Kisco NY and the other lives in Philly PA. Life revolved around school, the schoolyard, the LJC, little league and later hanging out on Merrick Road at such establishments as Carmine's Pizza. I loved my childhood and will never forget all my friends who lived there and who I grew up with. It's nice to see I'm not the only one with pangs of nostalgia about Laurelton. Website: too, have many wonderful memories of Laurelton life. Now living in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, would love to reconnect with long lost friends. We would both love to hear from any old friends from JHS59 Choral Music Class, the LJC (by the way, Rabbi Teplitz is now living in Boca Raton, and still going strong), USY, etc. Would like to hear from anyone in my class (1960) and might remember me. I remember indoor recess games, standing on big white circles painted on the black floor.

I still have the 4th grade picture and remember everyone in the class. Who could forget being able to walk to and from school, the movies, the library (and Miss Rand's storytelling), Colony cards, Carmine's, the kosher deli where we had Mrs. I attended Andrew Jackson HS from Sept 1962 to June 1965. I own a Management Consulting firm based on Transformative Learning principles and ontological coaching. We're all graduates of this "sickness" called Laurelton - at least that's what my wife calls it. Just because I have an Illinois vanity license plate which says "Laurelton" and still maintain Laurelton friends? Some of my best years, memories and friends start from the time I moved to Laurelton as an incoming freshman at AJHS. Several Laurelton and AJHS reunions over the years (in NY and Fla.), have kept the flame burning as I catch up with old friends and memories. I was also friends with a guy named Howard Levine who lived on the same street as me. I went to PS 176 and then the school system divided kids into the dumb ones and the smart ones. I am looking for pictures and friends from Laurelton and Rosedale from 1956 - 1971. I also worked for a Hardware Store from 1965 to 1969 on Saturdays. Not many Laurelton folks will remember me, as I did not attend local schools for grades 7-12. Would love to hear from the old LYAG/ATID crowd from LJC in late '60s. Living in Wheeling, IL - a Chicago suburb 1960 AJHS graduate. As anyone posting at this wonderful site knows, Laurelton will be in our hearts forever. At lunchtime the girls played records in the cafeteria and we'd dance to the tunes of the 60's as the guys would play ping pong and pool and who would steal glances at us while we danced. It would have been nice if the "block busters" had not raped Laurelton and some of our friends and families still lived there. I've been living in California more than half my life, now, but I'm still a Yankee fan and a lover of NY pizza. I've lived in Israel for the last 35 years and have been a "Lubavitcher" (Chabad) for the past 23, and have a big, beautiful family of kids and grandkids. As I read about the reminiscences of others on this site: 132, 156, "squash" at the handball court, the LJC, Carmine's, Roma's garlic bread (God), the movie theater (which was an addiction on Saturdays, curiously nobody mentioned), the wonderland of Stanley's! My family moved to Laurelton in 1955 and I lived at 131-45 227 Street until I moved away in 1964. It would be nice to hear from some of my old friends and see what road they traveled in life.
